    Logo design

Greetings, I would like to get some tips and advice about designing logos for websites. Guidelines and stuff perhaps? Thanks in advance.

What type of guidelines do you need? Are you new to logo design?
Maybe you can go google for logo design blogs and i ensure you can find some good articles.

There is the only way of making logos - vectors. Yesterday I spent few minutes by thinking of webdevforum logo... This is what I got, but its really bad.
    webdev logos
-I need to work on few more days to get what I want. You know it, the idea exists, but its not that bright - you should try and try to complete it.

What you need to keep in mind is, that your logo should be simple as much as possible, and it must carry an idea, that people can easily find.
Imo, there is nothing like latest trends in logo design. Good logo should never get out of date.
It must be useful - good logo fits anything. website header, business cards, whatever kind of printings, letterhead, invoice...
Logo shouldn't use too many different fonts.
Don't use misleading shapes and colors.

Have an idea? Don't wait and try it. Start whatever vector software and go.

Yes agreed with what martin have said. I logo also does not need to have a text in it to tell people what is it. You can designed the logo in wordmark, typography etc.. And the recommend software to use will be Illustrator.

Thanks for the help. I need your opinion on what is the best and what software would you recommend me to use in logo designing.

Already said by me and Martin. Illustrator or CoralDraw. But it will still all up to you to choose which one you is more suitable for you to learn from.

I think I'll try them both and see which is which. I'm currently designing a logo for my thesis so I'm asking for some guides and stuff. I'm gonna post the outcome here when I'm done.
    Thanks. )

You could start with some pencil+paper sketches.

I'm currently practicing that but it seems the paper and pencil doesn't like me. I suck in illustrating. lol. )
